Help D.J. Fluker Win Rookie of the Week

Posted Oct 22, 2013

Chargers first-round draft choice D.J. Fluker is nominated for Rookie of the Week following his big game against the Jaguars.

It’s not often an offensive lineman is nominated for a player of the week award, but when someone puts forth the effort that D.J. Fluker did Sunday against the Jaguars, you better believe he deserves to be recognized for it.

Predominately a right tackle, Fluker was forced to move to left tackle for the vast majority of the game due to injuries that felled his teammates.  Playing the position for the first time since high school, Fluker anchored an offensive line that did not allow a single sack after he switched to the left side. The Chargers also set a season high with 158 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns.

Now Fluker needs Chargers fans to vote him the Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week, following in the footsteps of Keenan Allen last week.  Fluker’s competition is Eddie Lacy, Geno Smith, Jordan Reed and Nickell Robey.

Then, watch him address his big game in the videos below.
