Gaither Back at Practice

Posted Sep 26, 2012

Jared Gaither , who has been absent from practice since July 27th due to back spasms, is finally back on the practice field.  It's been a long time awaiting his return and after practice coach Turner spoke on Gaither's participation in today's practice.

“He was limited in practice and he went through individuals. We'll see how he is tomorrow , maybe if he’s fine and everything’s good, he can take a couple of reps.”

His recovery process has been a long one, ongoing since training camp, so the fact that coach Turner  felt this was a good time to get him back on the practice field is a promising sign.

"It’s really been about him. It’s a day to day thing. He’s made progress over the last week and today we felt like it was an opportunity for him to get out and do a little individual work , and do some work on the side. He obviously has a lot of conditioning work to do, he hasn’t been very active, but it’s a start."

Gaither also spoke after practice, conveying his feelings that this was a big step in the right direction for him and that he has his site set on being ready for Kansas City this Sunday.

"It’s been an ongoing process, but I feel good today. My eyes are on Kansas City, Ill take it one game at a time as I continue to progress. That’s my focus."
