Floyd was injured very late in Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers when he had his ankle rolled up on as the Chargers were running out the clock. The seven-year vet leads the team in catches (56), yards (814) and touchdowns (five).
Wells’ injury occurred in the second half as well when he hurt both his ankle and toe. The 6-foot-4, 318-pound tackle was starting his second consecutive game at right tackle after being signed on December 10th.
Mathews was an expected addition to the season-ending IR list as he broke his clavicle for the second time this year midway through the first half of Sunday’s loss. The third-year pro leads the team with 184 rushes for 707 yards.
Willie was one of the final cuts of training camp, and was signed to the practice squad the very next day. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound rookie out of Arizona State impressed this preseason, catching four balls for 90 yards and one touchdown. In two years at Arizona State, he caught 72 passes for 897 yards and nine touchdowns.
Scafe has been a member of the practice squad for the last two seasons. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive end finished his senior year at Boston College ranked third in sacks (4.0) and tackles for loss (9.0).
