Nick Millican; Chula Vista, Calif.
What’s the difference between the summer climate in upstate New York and that of San Diego?
Upstate New York gets really really hot. Camps were usually hot, which meant for a harsher winter and that bad things were to come.
E. Abuyen; San Diego
How do you see your role in the Chargers’ offense this season?
I’m still trying to find my way. I don’t know if Head Coach (Norv Turner) has a particular role for me, but if he calls my number, whenever it might be, I have to be ready.
Bruce Wallace; Vancouver, Wash.
What is your take on being with a new team?
I love it. To be with a team like this, of this caliber. To just get to play in nice weather, after eight years of playing in the snow. I have had some good times in Buffalo, but I really like the guys here, the coaches, and the atmosphere. I’m just really excited to be here.
Wayne Jones; Oceanside, Calif.
As a veteran in the league do you have a routine to recover in the offseason?
I usually take off till about a week after the Super Bowl and that usually gives me enough rest before I get back to work.
Emil Hannesbo; Zurich, Switzerland
What would be the first thing you would do if you won the Super Bowl this year?
I’m going to Disneyland.
Tadd Dolfo; San Diego
Throughout your career in the NFL, which corner/defensive back did you least like facing and why?
We have some pretty good defensive backs in the league. I’ve been in the league a while, and going against the New Englands and the Jets, I’ve seen some great players. When I was in Buffalo, I saw (Darrelle) Revis in his breakout year, but I have played against guys like Ty Law, and then you see the Miami guys year in and year out and they start to learn your tendencies which make them even tougher.
Darren Jones; Pa.
What advice can you give a young receiver trying to make it in the NFL?
It may sound typical and cliché, but the way you practice is the way you will play in a game. So if you go out and practice like it’s a game, you will be prepared when the time comes because that’s how you practiced.
Tony Kiehl; El Cajon, Calif.
What is your most memorable moment in football to date?
Just being a part of this fraternity. A lot of guys don’t get this opportunity. I never thought after nine years I would still be in training camp, but I just keep working hard every year and I just thank God for the opportunity.
John Burress; Visalia, Calif.
Do you prefer playing in the slot or on the outside?
Definitely the slot; there’s just something about being on the inside and running those quick routes. I love it.
