
Butler, who played running back in high school, moved to inside linebacker at the University of Washington because of his size. In one of his most noted games, Butler led the Huskies with 12 tackles, one forced fumble, and one interception during a stunning 16-13 upset of No. 3 USC.
Butler will look to impress his fellow teammates and coaches during training camp as he launches toward a promising future.
He spoke with Chargers.com on Tuesday to answer your questions.

Well, if they’re going off the combine, I should be at least 80 to 85.

At Washington you played in a 4-3 defense. Now primarily in a 3-4 defense, do you feel that it’s a big change?
Thus far it hasn’t been that bad. The speed of the game and also the terminology (are different).

At least in my decade the best would be Ray Lewis.

The playbook is coming along, and I definitely see myself wearing the green-dot helmet.

Do you think that a high-profile, high-intensity game, like the game against USC last year, helps prepare you in any way for the pressure of the NFL game?
I wouldn’t say just one game prepares you for the NFL, but it’s how you practice everyday, and how well you can carry it over to the games.

Which teammate has been the most helpful so far and which one has teased you or played the most jokes on you?
No one has really played jokes. They’ve all been really helpful; we have a close group and we’re trying to help each other out.

How proud are you to be a Charger and do you believe that you’ve joined a team that can wreak havoc this upcoming season?
We’re winning the Super Bowl next year. This is the one team I wanted to go to. I wanted to stay on the West Coast and play for the best team on the West Coast.
