Danny Woodhead Blog: Why I Love San Diego

Posted Aug 3, 2013

Danny Woodhead provides today's blog during training camp.

Throughout training camp, we’ll be giving Chargers players the opportunity to talk directly to you, the fans, with blog entries of their own.  Today’s entry is from running back Danny Woodhead.

So far I love being a Charger because of my teammates, my coaches and really the whole organization.  And of course there are the fans.  It’s hard to put into words how much it means to be embraced the way I’ve been by you guys.  The support you’ve given me makes me feel comfortable and makes me excited to play for you. So I’d like to use this as an opportunity to let you get to know me outside of football.

When I’m not at work I spend a lot of time with my family.  My daughter is almost two years old.  She has seen me play, but the only thing she knows is that when football is on TV she says “It’s Daddy" which is really neat.  The best is that she can tell in pictures that I have which one is daddy, so that’s pretty cool.

My favorite part of San Diego so far is the weather.  All the different food they have here is awesome too, but when you come from the Midwest and also the North East, you really appreciate the weather here.  I haven’t had the chance to explore as many restaurants as I would like, but what I have enjoyed is going to taco shops.  My wife and I hit up some local ones, and they are the best.  But I’m looking forward to really getting to know the city better and that’s something I’m focused on outside of football.

So that’s about it.  I definitely look forward to getting to know the fans throughout the season, and I appreciate your support.

Danny
