Daily Roundup: Day Four From Chargers Park

Posted Jul 28, 2013

Here's your daily training camp roundup directly from Chargers Park.

The fourth day of training camp kicked off with the news that the Chargers made a free agent signing, bringing fifth-year cornerback William Middleton into the fold.  Find out why the signing was the best birthday present Middleton ever received.

The new corner was on the field practicing in front of over 3,000 fans.  If you weren't able to make it out to Chargers Park, view this photo gallery of the team in action, then check out the practice snapshots and top highlights of each day below.

Like you saw in the video above, Danny Woodhead made a phenomenal one-handed snare that wowed the crowd.  While he has already become a fan favorite, Woodhead said he is not resting on his laurels. Be sure to view this gallery of the diminutive running back right here.

Another player who turned in a highlight of the day is Keenan Allen.  I spoke with the third-round draft pick and the wide receiver said he is working hard to adapt to the pro game.  Here are some photos of Allen in action here.

Manti Te'o also joined Woodhead and Allen on the highlight reel with a nice pass breakup. Yesterday Te'o played host to a little league team from Hawaii. Check out this blog entry on how he felt about it.

On Sunday, the wide receivers and defensive backs continued to battle, which has been one of the highlights of training camp thus far.  Read here how each position is raising the other's game.

For more on today's practice, check out the below videos from head coach Mike McCoy and Antonio Gates.

Off the field, the Chargers made social media history by becoming the first professional sports team to team up with a local instagramer group to hold an Ultimate Instagramer Contest and Instameet.  Be sure to check out these incredible instagram photos taken by fans.

Now, you can stay in touch with the team anytime, anywhere, on your mobile device with the official app of the San Diego Chargers.
