Congrats Keenan! Pepsi Next Rookie of Week

Posted Jan 2, 2014

For the fourth time, Keenan Allen has won the Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week award.

Keenan Allen is so focused on this weekend’s playoff game in Cincinnati that he didn’t even know he was nominated for the Week 17 Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week award.

So you could imagine his surprise when he found out he won it.

“Another blessing,” he said humbly.  “I didn’t even know I was in the race until I just got that tweet.  Now I’ve got to keep it going and play consistent.”

Allen took home the honors thanks to a five catch, 89-yard effort in the Chargers' 27-24 overtime win over the Kansas City Chiefs. He came through in the clutch with a 38-yard catch and run on third down that allowed the Bolts to tie the game late in regulation.

Join us in congratulating Keenan in the comments below!
