Congrats D.J. Fluker! OT Named Rookie of Week

Posted Oct 25, 2013

D.J. Fluker was named the Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week.

Last week, Keenan Allen took home Rookie of the Week honors for his big game against the Indianapolis Colts.

This week it’s D.J. Fluker’s turn to take home the award.

The rookie right tackle was forced to play left tackle early in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a number of injuries sustained on the line.  It was Fluker’s first time playing the position since high school, and he aced the test with flying colors.  The team did not allow a sack once the first-round draft choice made the switch, and the team rushed for a season high 158 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

Fluker beat out Eddie Lacey, Geno Smith, Jordan Reed and Nickell Robey for the award.

Join me in congratulating DJ for being named the Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week in the comments below!

Now, you can stay in touch with the team anytime, anywhere, on your mobile device with the official app of the San Diego Chargers.
