The Chargers will place
"Jonas Mouton tore his ACL," McCoy said yesterday. "We'll do the right thing and get him back healthy...It's just unfortunate. It's the bad part of the business. You see these players come in here and they work so hard in the offseason. They put a lot of time and effort into it, their entire life to playing the game, and it's an unfortunate thing. You feel so bad for the player."
The Chargers initially selected Mouton in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He was the Big Ten Conference’s top tackler (117) as a fifth-year senior at Michigan in 2010. He recorded an impressive 264 total tackles as a three-year starter for the Wolverines and the Los Angeles native was a second-team All-Big Ten choice in 2010, also receiving the Wolverines’ Roger Zatkoff Award as the team’s top linebacker.
Mouton missed his entire rookie season after suffering a shoulder injury during training camp. He appeared in three of the Chargers final five games last year, amassing two tackles and one on special teams.
