SAN DIEGO – The Chargers agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Kansas City inside linebacker Demorrio Williams on Thursday.
The Chiefs released Williams, an eight-year veteran, Tuesday. Williams played in 12 games for Kansas City last year on special teams and as a reserve linebacker.
He’s expected to contribute as a coverage linebacker and on special teams for the Chargers.
The 31-year-old Williams started 13 games and made 117 tackles for the Chiefs in ’09, but played behind All-Pro Derrick Johnson the last two seasons.
Williams began his career with four seasons in Atlanta and has started 64 of 125 career games.
