A.G. Spanos, Chargers CEO, is pleased to announce Dave Gross of Santana High School as the 2011 High School Coach of the Year. In recognition of his selection, Mr. Gross received a $2,500 donation for his school’s athletic department. The High School Coach of the Year award was announced on the KUSI Prep Pigskin Report annual Silver Pigskin Gala show.
The Chargers Coach of the Week (COW) program recognizes high school coaches who, through their hard work and dedication to young people, have made a difference in the lives of their players, community and schools. The program also provides high schools with financial assistance to help fund their athletic programs. The Chargers have given $128,000 to the COW program since the inception.
