Fourth Quarter: Chargers 38 – Titans 10

Scoring Plays

11:43 – Jackie Battle dives over the pile for a 1-yard touchdown run.

1:13 – Jackie Battle pounds into the endzone on fourth down for a 1-yard touchdown.

Big Plays

12:50 – Malcom Floyd catches a 19-yard crossing route and avoids two tacklers for a Chargers first down.

9:33 – Dante Rosario takes a screen pass for 18 yards down the left sideline.

Third Quarter: San Diego 24 – Tennessee Titans 10

Scoring Plays

3:34 – Philip Rivers faked a handoff to Curtis Brinkley and found Dante Rosario up the seam for his third touchdown of the day.

2:24 – Jake Locker hit a short pass to the left to Kendall Wright who muscled over Antoine Cason for the touchdown.

Big Plays

13:41 -  Looking to make a statement to start the second half, the Chargers had the Titans looking at a 3rd-and 8.  On the play, Jake Locker faced immediately pressure and dumped off to Chris Johnson who was wrapped up for no gain.

9:38  - On 3rd-and-5, Locker stepped up and hit Nate Washington, but Antoine Cason and Shaun Phillips converged to wrap him up just short of the first down marker.

8:21 - Following a holding penalty, the Chargers were faced with a 1st-and-16.  Rivers handed off to Le’ron McClain, who dragged an entire pile of defenders on his back for 17 yards and a first down.

6:23 – Rivers connected with Malcom Floyd for a gain of 22 on 2nd-and -8.          

3:34-Lavelle Hawkins returned a Nate Kaeding kickoff 71 yards to the San Diego 32 yard ilne.

1:10 – On 3rd-and-1, Jackie Battle rumbled for 10 yards and a first down.

 

Second Quarter: San Diego 17 – Tennessee Titans 3

Scoring Plays

12:19  - Nate Kaeding booted a 26-yard field goal shot to give the Bolts a 17-point advantage.

4:45 – Rob Bironas put the Titans on the board with a 23-yard chip shot.

Big Plays

15:00 – Ladarius Green’s first NFL catch was a memorable one, as the rookie tight end rumbled 31 yards on a third down to give the chargers a 1st-and-goal.

12:49 - Mike Martin sacked Philip Rivers for a loss of four yards on a 3rd-and-goal from the four yard line.

12:09 – Backed up in their own end zone, Jake Locker hit Chris Johnson out of the backfield for a 12 yard gain to give the visitors some breathing room.

11:01 – On 3rd-and-15, and Qualcomm stadium rocking, Locker narrowly escaped a safety with Melvin Ingram nipping at his heels.  The quarterback simply through the ball away and the Titans were forced to punt.

7:27 – On 3rd-and-9, Jake Locker eluded defenders and escaped for a 20 yard gaine..  The Chargers were called with a late hit, and with the additional 15 yards, the ball was moved up to the 50 yard line.

5:26 – The Titans had a 3rd-and-10 from the Bolts 11 yard line and completed a ball to Damian Williams for only a gain of four, forcing a field goal attempt.

4:23  - Rivers tried to force a ball deep to Malcom Floyd on a third down, but the ball floated on him and was picked off by

3:07 - On 3rd-and-1, the Titans went for a big play up the right sideline, but Kendall Wright couldn’t stay inbounds with the ball with Quentin Jammer right beside him in tight coverage.

2:36 – The Chargers needed four yards on a third down from their own 19, but Rivers couldn’t get the ball off in time and was sacked.

1:58 – On 3rd-and-5, Melvin Ingram burst through the line of scrimmage to force Locker to throw an off balanced ball that was deflected by Donald Butler.

 

First Quarter: San Diego 14 – Tennessee Titans 0

Scoring Plays

8:59 – On 3rd-and-goal, Philip Rivers dropped back in the pocket.  With rushers closing in, he stepped up and started rolling to his left, where he fired a laser to tight end Dante Rosario to go up 7-0.

4:20 - On 3rd-and-goal from the four yard line, Rivers looked for Rosario once again, connecting with the tight end to extend the lead to 14-0.

Big Plays

14:10 – The Chargers converted a 3rd-and-7 when Rivers hit Ronnie Brownout of the backfield, and number 30 wiggled free just enough to net a first down.

13:23 - On the next play, Rivers connected with Malcom Floyd for a gain of 27.

12:09 - Rivers connected with Floyd once again for a gain of 14 to bring up 1st-and-10 at the Chargers 17.

8:09 - Under pressure, Jake Locker through deep up the right sideline, but Eric Weddle was there to pluck the ball out of the air for the interception.

6:29 - Faced with a 3rd-and-5 on the 26-yard line, Rivers found Eddie Royal over the middle for a first down.

2:54 – On 3rd-and-9, Locker was chased down by Donald Butler, who tripped up the QB as he hurled the ball out of bounds to avoid the sack.

2:00 -On 2nd-and-8, Rivers stumbled to the ground taking the snap.  As he got to his feet and tried to throw, he was hit by Will Witherspon and the ball came loose. Luckily, Randy McMichael was there to scoop up the loose ball.

1:17 - The Chargers came up empty on 3rd-and-10, however Kamerion Wimbley was called for roughing the passer and the drive stayed alive.
