Chargers Release 11 from Roster, Get Down to 53

The San Diego Chargers released 11 players today to get down to the league mandated 53-man roster.

The San Diego Chargers released 11 more players today to get down to the league-mandated 53-man roster.


Here is a list of players the team let go:

Tackle Nick Becton
Linebacker Frank Beltre
Tight End Ben Cotton
Cornerback Marcus Cromartie
Defensive End Logan Harrell
Running Back Michael Hill
Cornerback Josh Johnson
Linebacker Thomas Keiser
Wide Receiver Robert Meachem
Center David Molk
Tight End David Rolf

“I thanked all of the players for giving us their 100% effort and dedication,” said Head Coach Mike McCoy.  “They all worked extremely hard and gave us everything they had.  

“Days like this are never easy.  I have been in their shoes.  I was cut five times by five different teams.  I feel for these men and wish them the best of luck.”

The Chargers also reached an injury settlement and waived WR Dan DePalma, FB Chris Gronkowski and WR Mike Willie
