Months of preparation. Hours of tape. Gallons of coffee. Thousands of miles traveled. All the hard work the Chargers front office has done over the past year will finally be put to use tonight with the start of the 2013 NFL Draft. In the last installment of “Path to the Draft”, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Spanos spoke to me about the big day.
“There’s a lot that happens,” Spanos said. “We’ve actually sort of gone through a rehearsal of what’s going to happen. With a new coach and a GM we have some changes in terms of roles of who’s doing what.” Spanos continued, “when it’s all said and done when we’re on the clock and we’re ready to execute the pick we give the name to our people in New York and the rest is history.”
