Chargers FanFest 2013 set for Saturday

The San Diego Chargers will host FanFest 2013, presented by Bud Light, this Saturday, Aug. 3 at Qualcomm Stadium.

It will be a special day for Chargers fans of all ages and, best of all, it’s free. It will mark the first time that new Head Coach Mike McCoy leads his team onto the field at Qualcomm Stadium, along with some of the newest Chargers, including Dwight FreeneyDerek CoxD.J. Fluker and Manti Te’o.

Parking and admission are FREE. The parking lot will open at 9:00 a.m. and the stadium gates will open at 10 a.m. The morning will begin with the debut performance of the 2013 Charger Girls, followed by an action-packed full-pads practice from 11-1 p.m.

From 10-11 a.m. on the plaza concourse, fans will have a chance to meet a special group of Chargers alumni who will be available for autographs, pictures and football chat. The list of alumni schedule to attend and where they’ll be located includes Jacques Cesaire and Jamal Williams (Gate A), Rolf Benirschke and Doug Wilkerson (Gate D), Hank BauerWillie Buchanon and Pete Shaw (Gate G), and John CarneyBurt Grossman and Billy Ray Smith (Gate K).

The entire 2013 Charger Girls squad will also be available for pictures and autographs.

Many of the entertainers who are at the stadium on game days will also be in attendance at FanFest and fans will have an opportunity to get their faces painted and receive temporary tattoos among other fan-friendly opportunities.

Fans also should bring an appetite because concessions will be heavily discounted.  Also, some of the newest Chargers merchandise and apparel, including jerseys, hats and t-shirts, will be available at the Chargers Team Store at Gate G. And every fan who spends at least $50 at the Chargers Team Store will receive a free 2013 Chargers Yearbook.

Fans will also have an opportunity to purchase single-game, season and two and four-game mini-packages at FanFest. Some of the best seats available only thru the purchase of a season ticket will be tagged and Chargers representatives will be on hand to help facilitate the purchase of season tickets. Every new season ticket account that makes a purchase on Saturday will also receive a free Chargers replica micro-helmet.
