The San Diego Chargers and quarterback
Kyle Boller
have agreed to terms on a one-year contract. The former first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens is expected to take his physical shortly and join the team for this afternoon's practice.
The need for a quarterback arose when Charlie Whitehurst
had his left leg rolled into and left yesterday’s session early. He is expected to be out just a couple of weeks, but with only Philip Rivers
and Jarrett Lee
at the position, it was necessary to add another arm.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Boller has spent eight years in the league with the Ravens, St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders. He has thrown for 8,931 yards and 48 touchdowns in his career.
Check back this afternoon for more information on this latest transaction.
