Chargers Blood Drive XXXI next Tuesday

Posted Nov 19, 2009

The Chargers annual blood drive, which is one of the nation’s largest, will be held next Tuesday at the Town & Country Convention Center. Participants who do not plan to donate blood at the event will be charged a $5 entry fee ($1 for Children). Blood donors will be refunded the admission price after they donate.

Attention Chargers fans…you’re invited to make a difference in our community by donating blood at the 31st annual Chargers Blood Drive, presented by San Diego County Credit Union, on Tuesday, November 24, at the Town & Country Convention Center in Mission Valley, from 9am to 7pm. You will also have the potential to save someone’s life by joining the National Marrow Donor Program registry, free of charge.

You may stop in at your convenience throughout the day or schedule an appointment to donate by visiting SanDiegoBloodBank.org or by calling 1-800-4MY-SDBB (800-469-7322). After you donate, please stay to enjoy food, refreshments, entertainment and the chance to collect personal autographs from your favorite Chargers players and Charger Girls. Participants who do not plan to donate blood at the event will be charged a $5 entry fee ($1 for Children). Blood donors will be refunded the admission price after they donate.

Once again, the highlight of the day’s festivities will be the Chargers Family Fashion Show, featuring Chargers players and their families, sporting amazing fashions provided by local retailers.

The San Diego Blood Bank will provide donors the opportunity to secure a coveted Chargers Blood Drive XXXl long-sleeve T-shirt by donating the week before the drive during a special Chargers Mania Blood Drive at all San Diego Blood Bank donor centers and mobile drives. Donors will be awarded a voucher that may be redeemed at the Chargers Blood Drive for a T-shirt, as well as free admission into the Grand Exhibit Hall and a VIP wristband for the autograph line.

Join your friends and neighbors at this year’s blood drive and give the gift of life – together we can make a difference in our community! For more information log on to the San Diego Blood Banks’ web site at www.SanDiegoBloodBank.org.
