Last week was a tough loss and it hurt because obviously whenever you go into halftime with a lead, you have to finish. What hurts the most is that we worked so hard in the offseason and it feels like we failed as a group. That’s what makes it tough. That being said, I remain encouraged. We see how good we can be when everyone is playing as a unit. That goes for the offense, defense and special teams. We have a special group.
Getting the opportunity to start was special because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Opening night on Monday Night Football, it was unbelievable. When they called my name and I ran out of that tunnel it was an adrenaline rush that I can’t even explain. I got tunnel vision. I couldn’t see anything or hear anything. I was zoned in. It’s wild.
Thinking about where I came from last year it’s been a rollercoaster ride. Not making the team out of training camp last year to this year, it’s crazy going from one extreme to the other. But everything happens for a reason and I’m going to make the most of this opportunity.
I was asked to share something with you guys that you may not know about me. Well, I enjoy spearfishing. I love being underwater and using a spear gun or a pole with an elastic band on it. I started doing it back in Texas about four or five years ago, and it’s a lot of fun. Doing it out here in San Diego is a lot of fun. There are lots of fish, but you have to be careful not to go after the fish you aren’t allowed to get. Now that the season’s started I don’t do it very often, but in the offseason I do it once every three or four days. It’s sweet!
So that’s really it for me. Thanks for the support. We’re going to go out there and try to put on a show for you every week.
