Bolts Bring Back Schilling; Waive Manning

Posted Sep 25, 2013

The San Diego Chargers re-signed guard-tackle Steve Schilling on Wednesday.

The Chargers signed guard-tackle Stephen Schilling, the team announced today. To create room on the roster, the team waived linebacker Terrell Manning.

Schilling, 6-5, 312, was originally a sixth-round pick of the Chargers in 2011 out of the University of Michigan. He played in 11 games with two starts over the 2011-12 seasons and was released at the end of training camp in 2013.

Manning joined the Chargers via waivers on Sept. 1 after being let go by Green Bay. He was inactive for the Bolts’ first two games and saw action on special teams last Sunday in Tennessee.

The Chargers also made a pair of moves on the practice squad, signing guard Andrew Tiller and waiving wide receiver Toney Clemons. Tiller, 6-5, 326, played collegiately at Syracuse and was a sixth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2012. He suffered a triceps injury, however, during training camp and spent his rookie season on “Reserve-Injured.” Tiller was a two-year starter as a collegian for the Orangemen and a first-team All-Big East Conference pick as a senior.
