Bigby injured his groin in the first half of Sunday’s 16-13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. A seven-year veteran in his first season with the Bolts, the 5-foot-11, 215-pound safety ranked second on the team with 68 tackles.
Taking his place on the active roster is Bird, who spent last season with the Chargers. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound inside linebacker played in nine games in 2011, recording seven tackles.
