SAN DIEGO – Chargers linebackers coach John Pagano is the longest-tenured defensive assistant, heading into his 10th season with San Diego in 2011.
Being in one place for so long hasn’t quelled his appetite for football or caused him to turn from his offseason roots leading youth football camps.
A football lifer who’s the son of a coach, Pagano’s gregarious personality extends beyond the football field. Taking his cue, the linebackers aren’t shy about introducing themselves to opposing quarterbacks on a regular basis. Last year alone, the unit combined to make 31 of the team’s 47 sacks despite a cavalcade of injuries.
Find out more about the football-oriented family behind Pagano and get a glimpse of his outgoing personality in this short video.
