The best prospects from the college ranks descend on Indianapolis at the end of the month for the annual scouting combine.
One of the league’s marquee offseason events, it’s considered one of the most intense job interviews one can go through. Prospects will be put through the ringer, undergoing medical evaluations, on-field tests and interviews with prospective clubs.
On Tuesday, it was announced that 336 will participate in this year’s combine.
The list includes 160 players on offense including 19 quarterbacks, 44 wide receivers, 32 running backs, 17 tight ends and 48 offensive linemen. There will be 164 defensive players in attendance comprised of 49 defensive linemen, 45 linebackers, 43 cornerbacks and 27 safeties. Rounding out the list are 12 special teams players made up of five punters, four kickers and one long snapper.
Local products from Southern California will be well represented, including six players each from UCLA and USC. UCLA’s participants include QB Josh Rosen, DE Matt Dickerson, WR Jordan Lasley, OT Kolton Miller, OL Scott Quessenberry and ILB Kenny Young while USC’s feature QB Sam Darnold, WR Deontay Burnett, DE Rasheem Green, RB Ronald Jones, WR Steven Mitchell and OLB Uchenna Nwosu.
In addition, four players from San Diego State will participate, including RB Rashaad Penny, FB Nick Bawden, S Kameron Kelly and TE David Wells.
