Staff Sergeant William Means joined the Marine Corps in 2001. During his 13 years of service to the United States Marine Corps, Staff Sergeant Means has deployed 6 times, missing the births of two of his five children. Read
He deployed 3 times to Iraq in his first enlistment during the Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign. He then deployed twice to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. Read
His most recent deployment took him to Kuwait as part of a Special MAGTAF. Staff Sergeant Means is currently stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California and is on active duty. H Read

The Military Hero of the Week presented by California Resources Corporation was created to acknowledge the heroic efforts and sacrifices made by our U.S. service members, veterans and their families. Each week of the Regular Season the Los Angeles Chargers will honor a new Military Hero. The honored service member will receive four tickets to a Chargers home game where he or she will be recognized on-field. Their story and photograph will be shared here.
