Chargers Continue Support of Venice Pride

Venice Pride is launching a series of watch parties with support from the Los Angeles Chargers.

The first "Gay Gridiron" watch party, hosted by Varsity Gay League, kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 29 at The Basement Tavern in Santa Monica. Sunday's watch party includes a Charger Girls photo booth, team giveaways and big screen TVs for fans to catch all the Bolts action as they take on the New England Patriots.  Additional watch parties in this traveling series will be held on November 12th and 23rd, as well as December 16th and 24th.  All events are free and open to the public, but a ticket is required for entry.

"Equity, diversity, inclusion, and unity are fundamental to who we are as a franchise," said Jeffrey Pollack, Special Advisor to the Los Angeles Chargers. "We are proud of our partnership with Venice Pride and want all fans to feel like they are part of the team – home or away."

This is the second time the Chargers have joined together with the non-profit. This past June – as part of Venice Pride – the Chargers sponsored the yellow "N" in the world-famous VENICE sign and became one of the first NFL teams in league history to support a Pride event.

"From our inception, Venice Pride has pushed the envelope in unique and impactful ways, funneling grass-roots community involvement, equality and empowerment to Angelenos across the city," said Grant Turck, Executive Director of Venice Pride.  "The Los Angeles Chargers are dedicated to making all communities in L.A. feel welcome. We are thrilled to support the team's efforts to raise visibility for the devoted LGBT football fans of L.A."
