What Did the Broncos Say After Being Shut Out by the Bolts?

Notable comments from the Denver Broncos after they fell 21-0 to the Los Angeles Chargers.

On Getting Shut Out….

"Organizationally, when you look at the scoreboard and see a big goose egg, it's terrible… We had some issues defensively, on special teams, and on offense. We obviously have some issues all the way around." – OLB Von Miller

"Being shut out period in the NFL with the talent we have hurts. I can only speak on myself, I can't speak on everybody but it hurt. I'm going to get better and hopefully everyone else around me sees me working and we get better as a group." – WR Demaryius Thomas

On Chargers' Fast Start….

"We had hard mistakes at the beginning of the game. Once they were up they just played super safe and it's hard for us to be good at what we're good at. We're good at getting turnovers, sacking the quarterback so we can't do any of that if they're playing safe." – OLB Shaquil Barrett

"I think they started fast, they got that quick touchdown, then a punt return for a touchdown, all of the sudden you blink your eye and we're down by 14. It's tough, we just needed to play catch-up. We're more of a team that when we get the lead we play better. We can really shut teams down with our defense and be really stingy with that, but trying to fight back and trying to get the lead there, we didn't make enough plays to be able to do that." – NT Domata Peka

On Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram….

"Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram are good players. If you let them they will affect the game. You just have to limit how much they are back there…. I think right now that those are best two edge guys in the league working together. When you get 3rd-and-10 it is tough in this league in general and really tough with (Bosa and Ingram). We have to get the down and distance manageable and keep Bosa and Ingram on their heels. They are good players, so hats off to them." – QB Trevor Siemian

On offensive pass interference penalty on Demaryius Thomas….

"That was one big play that we made. I'm not sure. He called it so what can I say about that?" – Head Coach Vance Joseph

"I don't think it was a pass interference to tell you the truth. We got some calls that shouldn't have been made and some calls that should've been made. As a receiver I can't do anything. If I tried to stop and catch that ball, the DB would've ran into me. I don't know if they would have 100-percent called that on them so all I did was move, swipe to my left, which is not a pass interference, and they called it. Referees control the game when stuff like that happens. It's one of the plays that could've helped us out. It didn't have anything to do with the game but it was a big play that could've helped us out and maybe gave us a chance to put points on the board." – WR Demaryius Thomas
