Mock Draft Tracker 4.0: Combine Edition

In order to serve all Chargers fans, Chargers.com has compiled a list of who some top draft pundits are projecting the Bolts will select with the seventh pick in the draft.

Midway through the NFL Scouting Combine, many notable experts have updated their mocks based on new information.  Here is the latest look at who they project the Bolts to select:

NFL.com's Bucky Brooks:  S Jabrill Peppers – Michigan

What he says: "The Michigan standout would add some juice to the Chargers' secondary as a versatile playmaker. He will remind Chargers' fans of four-time Pro Bowler Eric Weddle."

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein:  DE Taco Charlton – Michigan

What he says: "Charlton fits with high-end physical and play traits. 'Inconsistent' has been the buzzword that has followed Charlton since coming to Michigan, but he began the process of shaking it during his senior season. Charlton is an ascending prospect with the size, length, athleticism and pass-rushing potential that NFL general managers dream of. What you see today might not be what you get. While his production coming out of college will be modest, he could become a substantially better player as a pro if he's committed to the weight room and willing to absorb coaching. High-impact defensive end with all-pro potential is his ceiling. His floor is solid starter."

Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski:  WR Mike Williams – Clemson

What he says: "A strong argument can be made that Clemson's Mike Williams isn't the top wide receiver available. But he's a great fit for the Los Angeles Chargers' offense.  Williams is 6'3 and 225 pounds, with an exceptional ability to make contested catches. His size, length and catch radius translate into an ideal red-zone target or security blanket on crucial downs.  More importantly, he excels running deep-in patterns and post routes, which is where Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers thrives. An inability to create separation is often counted among Williams' perceived faults. As NFL.com's Matt Harmon noted, the Clemson product had a high success rate getting open for nearly every pattern on the route tree. With the seventh overall pick added to a healthy Keenan Allen, speedy Travis Benjamin and developing Tyrell Williams, the Chargers' wide receiver corps has a chance to be special."

SB Nation's Dan Kadar: S Jamal Adams – LSU

What he says: "If Tennessee moves off the fifth pick, it could leave the Chargers to take the first safety in the draft. Adams may not be the coverage safety that Ohio State's Malik Hooker is, but he's a player with few flaws in his game."

FOXSports' Peter Schrager:  S Malik Hooker – Ohio State

What he says: "This is one of the most loaded defensive back drafts in years, which makes me think some of the guys being pegged to go Nos. 2-5 in other mock drafts could slip a bit. Hooker is one of my favorites in this year's class and can join his old Buckeyes teammate Joey Bosa in solidifying an up-and-coming young Chargers D."

CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco:  S Jamal Adams – LSU

What he says: "He is more of a box safety than Hooker, but he isn't a liability in coverage. The Chargers need help on the back end."

CBSSports.com's Jared Dubin:  S Malik Hooker – Ohio State

What he says: "As we wrote last week: If the Chargers retain Melvin Ingram in free agency (he has since been franchised tagged), get Jason Verrett healthy again and draft Hooker, they can sneak up on people with one of the best defenses in the league next season."

CBSSports.com's Dane Brugler:  DE Solomon Thomas – Stanford

What he says: "The Chargers hit a home run with Joey Bosa last year and could swing for the fences again with Thomas, who would be a great fit both inside and outside in Gus Bradley's scheme."

CBSSports.com's Rob Rang:  S Malik Hooker – Ohio State

What he says: "The Chargers won big with Joey Bosa a year ago and could see the speedy Hooker as an ideal replacement for Eric Weddle, whom the club clearly missed in 2016. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Hooker possesses the range and ballskills to complement small but physical cornerbacks."

CBSSports.com's Will Brinson:  S Malik Hooker – Ohio State

What he says: "Adding another playmaker to an underrated and dangerous defense is only going to make the Chargers more likely to take a jump forward next season."

Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer: S Malik Hooker – Ohio State

What he says: "(LA) could reach for some offensive line help here, but this point in the draft lines up with its glaring need for a ballhawking safety. With Joey Bosa wreaking havoc on the front end, they can get another Buckeye to clean up on the back end."
