A: It's funny you ask that because we were talking about that the other day around the office. With offense and defense usually stealing headlines, the kicking game has not gotten the recognition it deserves. More to the point, Drew Kaser and Josh Lambo have flown under the radar. The rookie punter made a big difference in the field position battle, averaging 52.3 yards per attempt including six inside the 20 on 15 punts. Meanwhile, Lambo converted all six of his field goal attempts, including his lone try over 50 yards.
Q: How emotional is it at Chargers Park when the cuts go down? – Alex Stroman
A: It's definitely a tense atmosphere around the facility this week. Each player on the roster grew up dreaming of being an NFL player, and devoted their lives to accomplishing that goal. Unfortunately, that dream ends this weekend. At the same time, even though that is the "bad part of the business", there is nothing like seeing a player realize they made the team. I'll never forget talking to Tenny Palepoi in 2014 minutes after he found out he was part of the 53-man squad. His reaction was exactly what you'd hoped it would be; a mix of joy, accomplishment, pride and humility. While this week can be a difficult time for many, I opt to focus on the positive stories of those who accomplish their dreams.
Q: How do you think Joey Bosa will blend in with the rest of the defensive line? How long do you think it will take (to fit in)? – Sean Kirk
A: It won't take long at all. Or rather, I should say it didn't take long. Even though he only took part in one walk through practice, it was obvious Bosa has "blended in" with his teammates up front. Head Coach Mike McCoy said he picked up where he left off during OTAs on the field, and Bosa's enriched his bond with his fellow linemen in the locker room. The rookie is also spending extra time with Defensive Line Coach Giff Smith to accelerate his understanding of the playbook

A: Never! I was hoping someone would ask. This week's nugget of info is that the NFL's leading tackler this preseason was none other than ILB Nick Dzubnar. The second year Charger finished with a league-high 32 stops. Second on the list was Miami's Nick Hull with 27, while San Diego safety Dexter McCoil ranked third with 25.
