Fans Invited to Qualcomm Stadium Field Saturday for Chargers DraftFest

San Diego Chargers fans have the chance to meet great Chargers players from yesterday, today and tomorrow at DraftFest 2016, a fun and interactive event for adults and kids on the field at Qualcomm Stadium on Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.  DraftFest is FREE and will provide fans with the first opportunity to meet the team's first, second and third-round choices from the 2016 NFL Draft.

Players scheduled to appear at DraftFest include D.J. Fluker, Denzel Perryman, Darrell Stuckey, Jahleel Addae and Sean Lissemore, along with Chargers alums Kassim Osgood, Jacques Cesaire and Stephen Cooper along with Hall of Fame wide receiver Charlie Joiner,  The alumni players will sign autographs on the field from 10-11 a.m.  Shawne Merriman will appear at 11 a.m.

DraftFest also will provide fans with another opportunity to sign the Citizen's Initiative in support of a modern multi-use stadium and convention facility in the East Village downtown. Signature-gatherers will be available to fans throughout DraftFest. And for fans who would like to sign the Initiative but are unable to attend DraftFest, there will be drive-thru lanes set up where fans can sign the Initiative without leaving their vehicles. It will be located in Section A-3 in the Northeast corner of the parking lot.

XTRA 1360 Fox Sports San Diego will broadcast live from DraftFest with Judson Richards, Mike Costa, Dave Palet and Jeff Dotseth anchoring the coverage, while Rock 105.3 also will broadcast live with Thor and Eddie Pappani anchoring the coverage on the FM side. In addition, IHeart Radio stations KOGO 600 AM, 101.5 KGB, Channel 933, 95.7 KISS FM and STAR 94.1 FM will have games and promotional giveaways for fans.

During DraftFest, the Chargers locker room at Qualcomm Stadium will be open for fans to tour and the Chargers Team Store will utilize the locker room as a venue for fans to purchase some of the newest and latest merchandise and apparel, including Chargers jerseys, T-shirts hats and more.

The parking lot at Qualcomm Stadium will open at 8 a.m. and Chargers fans will have an opportunity to watch the final four rounds of the NFL Draft on both BoltVision screens as well as big screens set up on the field. The Chargers currently have five selections during DraftFest, with one selection in rounds 4, 5 and 7, and two selections in round 6. All five of those picks will be announced live at DraftFest, including the team's fourth-round selection, who will be introduced by the Chargers' 2016 first-round pick.

While the draft is taking place, there will be plenty for fans to do on the field. There will be a series of Play60 interactive games spread throughout the field which kids and adults alike can enjoy. Many of the vendors who work at Qualcomm Stadium during game days will also be in attendance, including face painters and a photo booth.

And fans should bring a hearty appetite to DraftFest as Qualcomm Stadium's concessionaire, Delaware North, will be offering hot dogs and other specialty items on the field.

DraftFest will also provide fans with an opportunity to join the growing list of Chargers Season Ticket Members. Some of the best seats in the stadium, including seats in the lower bowl, will be tagged for Season Ticket Member purchases. The Chargers have an exciting home schedule in 2016 that includes the defending Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos and the New Orleans Saints, who are led by former Chargers quarterback Drew Brees. The Chargers will welcome the teams led by the top two choices in the 2015 NFL Draft, quarterbacks Jameis Winston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Marcus Mariota of the Tennessee Titans.

In addition to all of the DraftFest excitement inside the stadium, the Chargers and Second Chance Dog Rescue are joining forces to host the Chargers Dog Draft, presented by Petco, in Section O-1 of the parking lot at Qualcomm Stadium. Beginning at 9 a.m., fans will have an opportunity to adopt a rescued dog from Second Chance Dog Rescue.
