Needing to open a roster spot after signing WR Vincent Brown, the Chargers announced on Wednesday they released Adrian Phillips. The safety appeared in six games with one start, registering 12 tackles and one tackle for loss. Phillips has split time between the active roster and practice squad the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, the Bolts signed TE Tim Semisch to the practice squad and placed TE Alex Bayer (foot) on PS-Injured. Semisch is a 6-8, 267-pound product out of Northern Illinois who was primarily used as a blocker during his time with the Huskies. His most productive year was in 2013 when he recorded seven catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. Semisch spent the offseason with the Miami Dolphins, but was waived during final roster cuts and spent time on their practice squad.
