The San Diego Chargers continued to beef up the offensive line, adding their third player to the unit this week as they promoted guard Michael Ola off the practice squad. To make room, the team released running back Donald Brown.
Ola is a versatile 6-4, 312-pounder who started 12 games last season for the Chicago Bears. While predominately a guard, he started at every position in 2014 except center. He spent two seasons in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes before reaching the NFL, and the Chargers signed him to the practice squad on Sept. 7.
Brown appeared in 13 games last season for the Bolts with three starts, gaining 223 yards on 85 carries along with 29 catches for 211 yards. He was inactive in all three games this season.
