The San Diego Chargers announced they have teamed with The Free Ride Inc. to operate a 100% electric courtesy cart shuttle program for all 2015 regular season and postseason home games at Qualcomm Stadium.
The electric cars shuttle fans from the outer-ring parking areas to the stadium gates, while providing a fun and unique experience unlike any other around the league. The vehicles have been branded and sponsored by one of San Diego Chargers’ newest corporate partners, Fuddruckers. Each vehicle is equipped with an interior iPad that plays sponsor commercials, and includes a Photo Booth app. Free Ride drivers also act as brand ambassadors handing out giveaways and promotions to fans all season long.
”We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance our fans’ game-day experience,” said Chargers President-Business Operations A.G. Spanos. “This shuttle service will give our fans – particularly those in the outer sections of the parking lot – an easier, quicker option to get to the stadium gates. And it should be especially popular on hot or rainy days.”
“The Free Ride concept fits the stadium atmosphere extremely well. The vehicles offer flexible maneuverability, eye-catching advertisements, and an overall fun experience for fans,” said Sean Fruin, Business Development at The Free Ride Inc.
The first few games have seen broad range of passengers and a growing appreciation of the service. At the first 2015 regular season game, ridership tripled that of previous years when the stadium used more traditional busses. Ticketholders can flag down a Free Ride Shuttle at the Q parking lot, or wait at one of the four shuttle stops scattered around the outer ring of the stadium parking lot. Read
