On Saturday, the rookie not only got his first taste of his new home field, but relished every moment of it.
“This was real cool, and it was exciting,” he said as he walked over to sign autographs. “We had so many fans out here, and we tried to come out here and be great. It feels good to get the support and love from them. It’s all love, and I thank them for it.”
“This was a great experience. It wasn’t quite a full house, and it was loud. So I look forward to when it is rocking. It was great to come out here and play in front of this crowd. We have a great fan base.”
Third round pick Craig Mager echoed McCoy’s thoughts, explaining how he now feels more at home at the Q. In fact, lacing up his cleats in the locker room and playing on the actual field was another 'welcome to the NFL moment for the rookie.
“This made it feel more realistic. Ever since I got drafted, it’s kind of been feeling like a dream. It hasn’t really felt like reality, but when you get on the bus and walk into Qualcomm, it felt a lot more realistic.”
“I thought this was great. It was a great atmosphere, and a ton of fans showed up. The loyalty and support of the fans here is overwhelming. It was great to run around here in the sun and get ready for Thursday night against the Cowboys.” Read
