The San Diego Chargers have agreed to terms with offensive tackle Chris Hairston on a one-year deal. The Bolts are adding a player they are quite familiar with as Offensive Line Coach Joe D’Alessandris held the same role with the Buffalo Bills when they drafted him in the fourth round (122nd overall) in 2011.
The 6-6, 330-pound Hairston has appeared in 41 career games and all 15 of his starts came under D’Alessandris. He missed the entire 2013 campaign after being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list, but returned in 2014 to appear in all 16 games.
A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Hairston was an All-ACC selection his senior year at Clemson. The 25-year old will fit right in with fellow massive tackles King Dunlap (6-9, 330), D.J. Fluker (6-5, 339) and Bryce Quigley (6-5, 310).
