Welcome to San Diego, Pro Bowl CB Brandon Flowers
It’s not often a Pro Bowl player of Brandon Flowers' caliber becomes available late in June.
Thus, General Manager Tom Telesco didn’t let the opportunity to land the standout corner pass the Bolts by, swooping in and agreeing to terms with the veteran today.
Flowers recorded 421 tackles, 97 passes defensed and 17 interceptions in six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. He made his first Pro Bowl in 2013, notching 68 tackles, seven passes defensed and one pick, while also grabbing an interception in the Chiefs’ lone postseason game. The 5-9, 187-pounder was originally the 35th overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft.
The 28-year old arrives in San Diego with a lot of familiarity. He was collegiate teammates with Eddie Royal at Virginia Tech, and boasts six years of experience playing in the AFC West. Flowers also brings versatility to the secondary with his ability to play both outside and in the slot.
