Bolts' Offseason Program Starts Tuesday
The NFL Draft is only a handful of weeks away…but that’s not the next big event when it comes to Chargers football.
The Bolts return to Chargers Park on Tuesday to kick off their offseason program. According to the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, each team is allowed a voluntary nine-week offseason program, which is divided into three phases. The three phases are broken down as follows:
The first two weeks of the program comprise Phase I. These two weeks are limited to strength and conditioning as well as physical rehabilitation..
The second phase lasts three weeks and consists of on-field workouts that include individual player instruction and drills, in addition to team practice conducted on a “separates” basis. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.
The final four weeks comprise Phase Three. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team
The Chargers will hold a three day mandatory minicamp from June 17-19. After that, the team will separate for the ensuing month before returning in late July for training camp. We will post info on training camp and open dates for fans to attend as soon as they are announced. Read
