Keenan Allen Sets Team Rookie Record in Win

Keenan Allen knew after the game that he had set the team rookie record for receiving yards, but that wasn’t what was on his mind.
“We’re in the playoffs,” he said with the biggest possible grin imaginable. “And it feels great.”
Similar to the rest of the season when he had big days and set records, at the end of the day, all that mattered was that the team got their biggest win of the season.
Still, by catching five passes for 89 yards, he passed John Jefferson for the most receiving yards by a rookie with 1,046. He also became the first rookie in the entire NFL since A.J. Green in 2011 to surpass 1,000 yards. Overall, he ends his potential Rookie of the Year campaign with 71 catches for 1,046 yards while tying with Eddie Royal for the team lead with eight touchdown receptions.
While reiterating how getting the win was the number one priority, he did acknowledge that it was meaningful to set the team record.
“It’s very special,” he said. “It does mean a lot to me, especially to get it in a win. I’m just playing my game. I’m trying to make plays as much as I can.” Read
