What are the Bolts Thankful For?
A quick survey of the Chargers locker room determined that Thanksgiving is not only a special day for the Chargers, but one of the team’s favorite holidays. Here is what a select few said they were thankful for this year.
Mike McCoy: "My family is number one. I am very fortunate to be where I am at today. I couldn't do it without my wife and two kids. They are my biggest supporters. I am thankful for the opportunity Dean Spanos and the Chargers have given me to come here and lead the organization. We have a great group of people here. It's a special group. You thank all the players for everything they have done since the first day we've walked in the building together. It's a great group of guys and obviously, my close family - mother, father, brothers, sisters, family and all that stuff is number one."
Antonio Gates: “First and foremost I’m thankful for my family. All the opportunities I’ve been blessed with, and the Chargers for giving me an opportunity to support my family. I’ve got tons of things I’m thankful for. And I’m thankful for the people who were there to support the blood drive.”
Eric Weddle: “I’m obviously thankful for my family. I’m thankful for the team and my teammates, having a job, the fans, the city; I’m really thankful for everything. Every day I wake up and I’m a blessed man.”
Manti Te'o: “My family by far. I’ll always be thankful for my family being there for me and all that they’ve done.”
Kendall Reyes: “To be on such a great team and to be able to see my family. I’m just honestly thankful for everything. Life’s really a blessing.”
Ryan Mathews: “Just be blessed with a wonderful family, friends and being in a wonderful city. The job I have. There are a lot of blessings to be thankful for, and that’s just a few of them.”
Nick Hardwick: “I’m thankful for my family and our health. I’m thankful to work for a great company. I’m thankful for just about everything. I live a blessed life.”
D.J. Fluker: “Everything. Life. The team. The fans. This city. My family. Everything. Every morning I wake up is a blessing.”
Danny Woodhead: “There are a lot of things to be thankful for, but I’m most thankful for the opportunity to spend time with my family during that day.”
Cam Thomas: “My family. My kids. Looking at the people at the blood drive, some people survive (health issues) and some people don’t. It makes me look at my family life and I’m thankful. “
Nick Novak: “I’m thankful for family and I’m thankful to play for my favorite NFL team. I’m thankful to have a great locker room and teammates.”
Ladarius Green: “There’s a lot to be thankful for. I’m thankful for being healthy and doing what I love to do.”
Darrell Stuckey: “My family and the blessings God gives us to secure the future of my family as a whole. And to raise my son in this environment.”
Rich Ohrnberger: “I’m thankful for my health, for my family and I’m just thankful for every day I get. You never know which day is going to be your last one, so I wake up every morning and try to make the most of it.”
Melvin Ingram: “It’s just a blessing to be alive. I’m thankful to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving.”
Corey Liuget: “To be able to do things like the blood drive and give back to the community. Saving lives.”
