The San Diego Chargers have signed tackle Kenny Wiggins from their practice squad, the team announced today.
The 6-6, 314-pounder is a first-year player from Fresno State who was signed to the team’s practice squad on Sept. 2.
A native or Elk Grove, California, Wiggins signed with San Francisco as an undrafted rookie in 2011. He was released at the end of his rookie training camp and later spent five weeks on Baltimore’s practice squad. He re-signed with the 49ers in 2012 and spent the entire ’12 season on San Francisco’s practice squad. Wiggins went to training camp again with San Francisco in 2013, but was released at the end of training camp.
Wiggins wears No. 72.
To make room for Wiggins on the active roster, the Chargers waived rookie tackle Nick Becton.
