It felt real good to get that win last week because we needed it. That was a boost for the team and morale. It gives us momentum going into this week, which is big. This is going to be a good game against the Raiders. It’s a big one because it’s a divisional game. They have talent at the receiver position and a solid quarterback in Terrelle. It’s going to be a good test for us.
I’m really looking forward to playing in that stadium because I’ve heard so much about that environment. Those fans are passionate for Oakland, but we’ll be ready. We’ll be juiced.
Being an undrafted rookie, this has been a special year for me. This has been my dream. Not being drafted has given me more motivation. It’s a blessing and I’m appreciative of the opportunity I was given. I’ve learned so much from my teammates in the secondary. It’s only my fifth year playing safety so I’ve learned a lot being behind a Pro Bowler in Eric Weddle. I’ve learned a lot from Gilly and the rest of the guys about being a professional.
Personally, something you guys may not know is that my dad is from Africa, my mom is from the Virgin Islands and I haven’t cut my hair since I was seven. I don’t plan on ever cutting it. Just kidding. Maybe. Right now I’m enjoying it. I’m also enjoying San Diego. I love the people, the weather and the whole environment.
Thanks to all you fans for the support you’ve given us. But it’s not over. We’re going to need you guys all year long and throughout the season. So let’s get it done!
