It’s Seyi Ajirotutu…better known around San Diego as “TuTu”.
For the third time in four years, the San Diego Chargers have reunited with Seyi Ajirotutu.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver appeared in three games with one start for the Bolts in 2012, recording three catches for 45 yards. His most notable reception came against the Kansas City chiefs with a diving, highlight reel fingertip catch for 28 yards on 3rd-and-5 early in the game. Ajirotutu appeared in 10 games in his initial stint with the team in 2010 after signing as an undrafted rookie free agent, catching 13 balls for 262 yards and two touchdowns.
Last year when he returned to the fold, quarterback Philip Rivers was thrilled to reunite with the man the players refer to simply as “Tutu”.
Here is what Rivers had to say upon his return last year.
“Oh it’s good (to have him back),” he said. “Obviously he’s got the ability to step right in. He was always one of the smartest guys we had from a playbook standpoint, so he’ll have no problem adjusting. It’s good to see him.”
In a corresponding move, the team waived-injured wide receiver Danario Alexander. If Alexander clears waivers, the team will place him on the “Reserve-Injured” list. ReadRead
