The stars keep aligning for General Manager Tom Telesco and the San Diego Chargers.
In the third round, they were able to select California wide receiver Keenan Allen with the 76th overall selection. Many had a low first /early second round grade on the wideout and believe he fell in the draft as he is rehabbing from a knee injury. That being said, Allen says he is 90% healthy and ready to go when the team holds minicamp in early May.
With his 2012 campaign cut short due to injury, Allen’s most productive season came as a sophomore. He caught 98 passes for an impressive 1,343 yards and six touchdowns, garnering First Team All-Pac-12 honors in the process. Before his injury, he appeared in nine games as a junior this past season, catching 91 balls for 737 yards and six scores.
