The San Diego Chargers players, coaches and front office members had April 16 circled on their calendar for the last three months. That’s because it marked the first time the team would hit the fields here at Chargers Park under Head Coach Mike McCoy for a three day mini camp. Here are some highlights from last week.
Things started off on Tuesday when the entire team showed up for the voluntary minicamp. You can find exclusive photos of them on the field right here, and watch three videos of them in action below.
After the team's first practice, McCoy met the media to discuss how his first practice went and what he hoped to accomplish during his three days with the team. You can read all about it right here.
When McCoy finished, Philip Rivers spoke and discussed how different this offseason has been compared to past years as he has to learn a completely new system with new terminology.
Later that day, General Manager Tom Telesco explained to the media his draft philosophy heading into Thursday’s NFL Draft. Click here to read the highlights and watch the video below for the complete press conference.
Speaking of the NFL Draft, Jordan Beane continued his Path to the Draft feature with Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Spanos. This week, they discussed the important month of April and what goes on during the weeks leading up to the draft.
After the last day of mini camp on Thursday, Danny Woodhead and Derek Cox spoke about joining the Chargers. Overall, the entire free agent class is fitting in nicely for the Bolts.
