But this wasn’t a warm Sunday afternoon at Qualcomm Stadium. Instead it was a brisk Friday night in Petco Park as the newcomers were graced with the opportunity to throw out the first pitch prior to the San Diego Padres game.
“This is just fun,” said Telesco. “It’s an honor that they even asked us to come out here and do this. It’s fun to come out and meet the GM Josh Byrnes and (Manager) Buddy Black. They’ve been really great, so it’s been fun.”
Telesco's goal for the 60 feet and six inch throw to home plate in front of thousands of fans was a relatively simple one.
“I just want to hit the catcher!” he joked minutes prior to the first pitch.
