Chargers President Dean Spanos announced today a slight restructure of the team’s football operations department.
Ed McGuire has been named Executive Vice President of Football Administration/Player Finance for the Chargers. McGuire’s primary responsibilities will be to serve as the club’s chief negotiator and manage the salary cap while overseeing compliance of NFL and Collective Bargaining Agreement rules. He will work closely with Dean Spanos on player finance.
John Spanos has been named Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the team. In this new role, John will work closely with team President Dean Spanos in overseeing the entire football operations of the Chargers. He will continue his role in player personnel, evaluating both pro and college players, as well as assisting in player contract negotiations and managing the salary cap.
McGuire, John Spanos and General Manager Tom Telesco will report directly to President Dean Spanos.
