The Chargers have signed tackle Kevin Haslam to a two-year contract. He has been a member of the Chargers’ practice squad since Sept. 5. Haslam fills the spot that came open when the Chargers placed Jared Gaither on “Reserve-Injured” on Friday.
Haslam, 6-5, 310 pounds is in his third year from Rutgers. He came to the NFL in 2010 as an undrafted rookie with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent two seasons in Jacksonville (2010-11), playing in five games as a rookie. Haslam suffered a knee injury during training camp in 2011 and he spent the season on “Reserve-Injured.” He was waived by the Jaguars in March 2012 and signed with Oakland in May. He was waived at the end of training camp clearing the way for his signing with the Chargers.
Haslam will wear No. 70 for the Chargers.
