The San Diego Chargers announced today they have signed long snapper Kyle Nelson and have placed Mike Windt on IR with a fractured wrist.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Nelson spent training camp with the San Francisco 49ers and was on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad earlier this season. Last year, he spent a week on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad. He played his college ball at New Mexico State.
Windt fractured his wrist on Sunday during the Chargers loss to the Denver Broncos. He’s spent the last three seasons as the team’s long snapper. Read
