On Tuesday Chargers linebacker Donald Butler made a surprise visit to the home of Escondido resident and long-time season ticket holder, Dave Kuzmich, to present him with a trip for two to the Chargers’ game in Pittsburgh on Dec. 9 as one of the top prizes in the team’s Season Ticket Renewal Sweepstakes.
All season ticket holders who renewed prior to the first deadline were entered to win. Last month the team gave away the grand prize of a trip to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.
Kuzmich, a season ticket holder since 1978, will receive airfare, hotel accommodations and tickets to the Chargers-Steelers game at Heinz Field. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Kuzmich is thrilled to go to the game in Pittsburgh, an easy drive from his hometown.
“I’m so excited,” said Kuzmich. “I was visualizing this moment and I’m so happy.”
As part of the Chargers Season Ticket Renewal Sweepstakes, the team soon will be giving away trips to the Chargers’ games in New Orleans on Oct. 7 and at the New York Jets on Dec. 23 among nearly 100 other prizes.
