Chargers Champions Scholarship/Grants Program

The Chargers Champions Scholarship and Grant program was created to assist the future leaders of our country with their educational goals and to recognize their current efforts as leaders in their schools and communities. The program also makes a strong commitment to county schools by providing grants for badly-needed physical fitness & nutrition programs in San Diego County.

Students Application (Application) - The Student Leader Scholarship program honors high school juniors who are "making a difference" in their schools and communities through leadership, service, citizenship and commitment.

The program annually selects 10 students from throughout San Diego County and provides each of them with a $5,000 tuition scholarship, and a lap top computer.

Schools Application (Application) - The Chargers Champions School Grant program is designed to assist San Diego County schools meet some of the basic physical fitness, athletic and nutrition needs of their students.

The program annually provides selected schools with grants of up to $75,000 for high schools; up to $40,000 for middle schools and up to $30,000 for elementary schools. The selected schools also receive player visits to their campus.

Application Process

The Chargers Champions Scholarship and Grant program is open to any high school junior with a 3.0 or better unweighted GPA and any public/private school in San Diego County. Information describing the application process and how to obtain additional applications are mailed to all county public schools and available as well through the Office of Education. This same information is also mailed to all private schools in the county using a list updated and provided by the State of California.

The submission process is through a written application form.
